It is the learning method advocated by the Bilingual Department of WXFLS to initiate real learning and exploration in real situations, to make students' personal experiences connect with local and global challenges, so as to train students to become thinkers, communicators and learners with critical spirit, innovative spirit and international feelings.
本次疫情,事關(guān)中國甚至世界公共衛(wèi)生狀況。因此,錫外雙語小學部各個年級結(jié)合真實情境“新型冠狀病毒”,開展了超學科的、趣味性強的探究課程。
This outbreak concerns the public health situation in China and even the world.Therefore, in combination with the real situation, each grade of he Bilingual Department of WXFLS developed an interdisciplinary and interesting exploration course.
一、二年級
小朋友們通過詢問家長,閱讀書籍和查閱資料等方式多方位了解了新冠病毒是什么,病毒如何傳播,并且如何預防,同學們通過自我探究,充分了解到勤洗手,戴口罩才能做好自我防護,并以此引導小朋友們在家切身做好實際行動。
Children learned about novel coronavirus, how to spread virus and how to prevent it by asking their parents, reading books and looking up materials. The students fully understood that washing their hands frequently and wearing masks can protect themselves.Teachers also guided the children to do practical things at home.
三年級
三年級的同學們通過研究新冠病毒形狀、特性,逐步了解“歷史上的病毒有哪些”,并尋找這些病毒可能存在的相似癥狀;
Through the novel coronavirus, the third grade students began to learn about "what are the historical viruses" and to look for similar symptoms that these viruses might have.
同時,同學們還做起了“面包實驗”,讓具有不同手部清潔度的孩子們,觸摸同一天從同一條面包上切下來的純白面包片。然后他們將面包密封在單獨的塑料袋中,看一個月后會發(fā)生什么,這個小小的實驗讓同學們都認識到了洗手的重要性。
The students also conducted a "bread experiment" in which children with different hand cleanliness were asked to touch a slice of bread cut from the same loaf of bread on the same day.Then they sealed the bread in a separate plastic bag to see what would happen after a month. This little experiment made the students realize the importance of washing their hands.
四年級
四年級的同學通過探究學習,更明確了他們在疫情期間的責任,孩子們認為他們更應該要努力學習,同時制定了疫情期間在校期間的相關(guān)規(guī)則。
The fourth grade students through the inquiry learning, more clear their responsibility during the outbreak, the children think they should study hard, and made the relevant rules during the outbreak in school.
同時,老師們將數(shù)學融入探究課程,通過融合,給孩子們提供一個聯(lián)系知識與現(xiàn)實世界的途徑,孩子們通過解決現(xiàn)實問題,增加感知、認知、能力和興趣。
At the same time, teachers integrate the math curriculum into the inquiry curriculum, providing children with a way to connect knowledge with the real world through integration, and children increase perception, cognition, ability and interest by solving real problems.
在本輪探究學習的最后,四年級的同學們用一個詞來反思這個階段學習。

錫外雙語小學部希望每個孩子都能成為一個積極的反思者,希望學生能夠?qū)ψ约旱膶W習和經(jīng)歷做出縝密的思考,能夠客觀地評估和了解自己的長處和局限性,有助于自己的學習和個人發(fā)展。

五年級
五年級的同學則以病毒和細菌的異同入手,探究病毒和細菌給人類帶來的影響。孩子們從家里帶來自己的疫苗接種本,開展了有關(guān)疫苗接種利與弊主題的辯論賽。同時,為了迎接低年級的學弟學妹返校,他們還精心制作了疫情期間防疫科普手冊,并貼心地標上了拼音。
Fifth graders started with the similarities and differences between viruses and bacteria to explore the impact of viruses and bacteria on human beings.The children brought their own vaccination books from home and held a debate on the pros and cons of vaccination.At the same time, in order to meet the junior back to school, they also carefully produced epidemic prevention during the popular science manual.
